Pride 2022: Celebrate with our Favourite LGBTQIA+ Games!
June is Pride Month – a time to proudly celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community. And what better way to celebrate than to dive into our favourite diverse games? We asked the Mighty Kingdom team what their favourite queer games are – and what makes them so special.
Romancing Who You Want
A major theme amongst the games listed was romance.
“Anything that lets me romance who I want,” said Sophie Rosetti, Senior Producer. This includes everything from dating simulators such as Dream Daddy Dating Simulator, to RPGs with romanceable side characters like the Dragon Age and Mass Effect.
But the ultimate choice-is-yours option? The eternal Sims franchise!
Some games with great romances:
Dream Daddy Simulator (Game Grumps)
Dragon Age: Inquisition (Bioware/EA)
The Sims Franchise (Maxis/EA)
Monster Prom (Those Awesome Guys)
Stardew Valley (ConcernedApe)
Representation Matters
Seeing yourself reflected in the media you play is important to so many players – so when a game nails representation, it becomes pretty special to you. Whether it’s a bold relationship that doesn’t shy away from the details, or a subtle nod to a character’s identity – it matters for players. That’s one of the main reasons why a core commitment at Mighty Kingdom is to make sure we have a diverse team; so that we can authentically make games that resonate with wide audiences.
“I may have gotten a little teary when I got to that level in Unpacking,” said Mig Considine, PR Manager at Mighty Kingdom.
A selection of games with relatable characters include:
Unpacking (Witch Beam / Humble Games)
Life Is Strange: True Colours and Life Is Strange: Before the Storm (Deck Nine, Feral Interactive / Square Enix)
Tiny Tina’s Wonderland (Gearbox Software / 2K)
Borderlands 2 (Gearbox Software, Aspyr / 2K, Aspyr)
On the Go
We’ve even got options for mobile gamers! Visual novels like Choices and Lovestruck give players the power to control their stories – making them so much more engaging.

Lovestruck (Voltage Entertainment USA, Inc.)
